Using ReCaptcha instead of DNN Captcha?  (Canada)

I'm looking to implement ReCaptcha for my user registration because of the audio and refresh capabilities.

Question #1
Is it possible to use ReCaptcha instead of DNN Captcha with Advanced Login module?

For now, I am attempting to use ReCaptcha for the default DNN User Registration. I have downloaded and copied the Recaptcha.dll file in the \Bin folder.
http://code.google.com/p/recaptcha/do...

I've registered my domain and received my public and private keys.
https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admi...

I've followed the instructions from the following blog post:
http://www.mylifebbs.com/2010/01/guid...

But I've run into problem finding the correct .ASCX file to add the ReCaptcha control code for the default User Registration page. After searching on Google I was only able to find documentation that refers to using the /Admin/Security/Register.ascx and /Admin/Users/User.ascx files (which appears to be from DNN 4.x).

Question #2
Does anyone know which ASCX file is used for the default User Registration page? Or do I need to create a custom registration page in order to use ReCaptcha?

Any insight into this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

We will investigate what options we can produce.

Are we making any headway with this?

We understand that recaptcha will be a nice feature, but this is something that will not be turned around super fast. Most of our team is on holidays, and as such, I can say that it is a feature that we will investigate, test, introduce when time permits. In the time being, we do have captcha available already in the module.

So to recap the questions asked

Question #1
Is it possible to use ReCaptcha instead of DNN Captcha with Advanced Login module?
Answer: Maybe as a feature in the future.

How about question #2?
Does anyone know which ASCX file is used for the default User Registration page? Or do I need to create a custom registration page in order to use ReCaptcha?

DNN does not work like this with the login system. You can drive people to the login page with /?ctrl=login after your domain name.

eg: http://www.interactivewebs.com/?ctrl=login

but DNN will intercept the call and take you to the default configured login page as defined in the settings. You may be able to setup re-capthca there, but gotta say it is hard to imagine the situation you are in where getting this type of captcha is so time critical. If it can be done, we will do it on Advanced Login, just not instantly. Unless you want to pay for that?

Re: Using ReCaptcha instead of DNN Captcha?  (Canada)
It's not a time critical situation and I didn't ask to have it implemented immediately.
I'm not a developer and I just asked 2 simple questions. That's all.

IMO, the ability to have audio and captcha refresh (instead of refreshing the page) is something customers would like to see when they register or login. After all, it's all about the User Experience (UX) right?

But on a good note, I did manage to get ReCaptcha displayed on the standard DNN registration page (but also along side with DNN Captcha ), so I know that it can probably be done. So if a non-developer like me can get ReCaptcha displayed, then I'm assuming it's only a matter of having the proper coding skills to finish the job.
