Verification Code
(Malaysia)
In my site i have two types of registration.
One type of user , we call them fan can register themselves by visiting the site. Once they register themselves they have to verify their account also.
On the other hand Admin creates users for other roles like agents, celebrities etc which does not require authentication.
Is it possible to show authorize check box in advanced module registration form?
Is it also possible for advanced module registration form to show the random password check box and generate random password for the newly created user and mail them?
Thanks,
Qamar

The first question is no. The only way the admin could authenticate an account is to do it the standard DNN way. That is... login to the account management and set it to authorized after creating the account. The control of the authorization is set by the public settings of the site in the dnn admin menu.
The advanced login would not allow random passwords. It will obey the password strength settings defined in the DoeNetNuke website though. Again, the administrator can reset a password to a random one using the user administrator settings.

Is that you are saying I can't really replace administrator user registration form with advanced login form?
It has to be the way it is right now?
Lets say the site is set to verified and Admin creates an user using advanced login user registration form, will the user still have to enter the verification code or they will be just notified that admin created them as user?

No, what we are saying is that this is a layer for registration. Nothing we do replaces any DNN components. So user registration via the existing admin create new user is still available. So if you want to create a new dnn user the way you are used to. Then do that!
We don't have any affect on that process at all.

What you describe is how DNN works. If the admin clicks add a new user from that user admin menu, then the add a new users form is the standard DNN add new user form.
Remember we are not modifying DNN, so all these standard features continue to work as DotNetNuke made them to work.

Ok agreed.
Now i have created one page with advanced login module and set the url with showregister=true
The page only can be visible by admin.
But when i go that as a admin i dont see any form. Why is that happening? What am doing wrong here?

That is because an authenticated user cannot register, they are already registered. You need to define a unique hidden url to register for admins, and hide it from public view. Then hit that page without being logged in.

don't you think that this is insecure?? and my admin are not so IT literate. I can't really ask him to type a url then register someone.
and they are my clients and i can't really let them know that i have a loopwhole in the site. Please suggest if there is any other alternatives if available

It is no less secure than allowing any unauthenticated user to register. It is just a registration, not granting any access to the site unless you allow edit privileged to registered users.
We appreciate all your questions; you have posted 28 questions to the forums, sent several direct email messages.
The bottom line is this. The Advanced login module does many things, and interacts with DotNetNuke without interrupting the processes that are offered natively by DNN.
If you need a custom process of registration that this module does not meet, then please engage someone to custom build it for you.
The manual covers what this module will do in a 100+ page manual. There are loads of online resources for what DotNetNuke can do. Please make your own mind up as to the best way forward for custom processes for your user registration needs.

Re: Verification Code

In my first post itself I asked that we need two kinds of registration, one for public and one by admin user, and asked if this is possible with Advanced login, you should have told us then itself that its no possible. We appreciate you answering 28 posts, as its an effort but its an effort for us also, we could have stopped after first post if you would've told us clearly.
Any ways its okay, we'll use this only for login and for registration we'll do our custom code.
Thanx for all your support.
Regards,
Deep
