Cannot see error message on login or registration

We have been trying to test our site and check for problems. We found out that whenever we enter incorrect login info, it just redirects to the same page but does not show the popup error message. This also happens when a duplicate email is entered on the registration. (the duplicate email option is checked on the module settings). Can you please help us how to fix this? Also, is there a way to make the all registration fields required?

What mode are you using for the module?
It may be best for you to use our contact us page and provide HOST login details for us to see how you have configured things.
