Bounce settings error

Hi.
I'm getting the error below when trying to set up and test a bounce email configuration. I can ping and telnet to the server and port number 110 and do a successful test send on the smtp server. I've checked the blog at Chilkat blog post. Is there a server setting that I'm missing?

when you say that you can telnet to the server, it is not exactly clear how you are testing this. What you need to do in effect is to be able to connect from your Web server to your pop three server. Clearly the error message here indicates that this is not currently happening and authenticating with the username and password that you have supplied. It could be that the firewall is preventing information on either server.
