Delivery Speed settings?
(United States)
We have our own server running DNN 4.9 and a very fast dedicated internet service along with our own Exchange 2003 server. I checked iwebs.Modules.BulkEmailer.EmailSchedule, App_SubCode_BulkEmailerSchedule and it is set for: Time Lapse 2 minutes
What is the recommended fastest speed we should set our Bulk Emailer? We usually send emails to about 2300 at a time an want them to be sent as fast as possible without the risk of a problem.
Thanks.

The fastest this will handle this relatively small number is 1 min. But that being said, why load it all up so much. For such a small number I would set something like 5 min.
Remember data flows, from web to exchange exchange to client email, if it bounces, then back to exchange and then if you have bounce configured the web will come in and read the bounce email box.
No big deal, but there is a bit going on. I just like the idea that it is not all loaded up rushing the process.

also, i believe each time the scheduler is hit and bulk emailer has something to do, it will send a number of emails to the email server at once (we can confirm if necessary but i believe it is 500). So 1-2 or 5mins are recommended settings for your configuration.

Hi,
What is the recommended setting for 35,000 emails?
Thanks,
Will

Depends on the nature of the content. I.e. is it time critical content.
If not, and you have decent SMTP servers to support delivery, then about 2 Min. that would take 1 day to deliver and not be to hard on servers.
