SMTP Relay setup - ERROR
(United States)
I am trying to set up a relay server and I can't get it to work. I receive the following error:
ChilkatLog: OpenSmtpConnection: DllDate: Jun 23 2009 UnlockPrefix: NTRACWMAILQ Username: NETWORK SERVICE Component: .NET 2.0 Need new SMTP connection No SMTP login provided. No SMTP password provided. Skipping SMTP authentication because no login/password provided. SMTP_Connect: Connecting to SMTP server 66.147.118.104:25 smtp_host: 66.147.118.104 smtp_port: 25 smtp_user: NULL auth-method: NONE socket is not ready for writing Connect function failed. SocketError: WSAEWOULDBLOCK The socket would block. For more information see http://www.chilkatsoft.com/p/p_172.asp Failed to connect to SMTP server. Failed to connect to SMTP server
The relay server is set up correctly as I can create an email account in Outlook and can successfully send emails via the relay server. I can't find any documentation on this problem and I need some help!
Thanks!

The module requires that it can communicate with the SMTP server configured within it. Clearly this cannot authenticate access to the configured server.
I cannot comment on what you have setup with regard to Outlook, however usually the relay is configured and has no impact on any inbound connections, this apparently does.

You may also want to check that you have checked the "basic authentication" method in the DNN settings. It is possible in some versions of DNN to enter user and pass information, but leave the authentication method unchecked.
This is the give away:
No SMTP password provided
