Removing Read More
(Canada)
Hi,
My company has purchased the Announce It module about 2 weeks ago. We are using the module in several sections of our website (thanks!).
In one section, we are using the module to display brief version descriptions which we placed in the summary box for each version (in add an item). We do not use the description box (in add an item). Is there a way that we can remove the 'Read More' tag from the items' summaries?
Thanks!

Glad you like the module.
Currently no, however we will include this in our list of potential updates.
See some details about requested features here...

I'm please to announce that this feature is now available in the 40.02.04 release of AnnounceIT!
Simply add a new announcement with nothing in the content section and the read more link will not be displayed for that announcement.

Re: Removing Read More
(United Kingdom)
I've just purchased this module, and I'm getting to grips with it, pretty quickly.
One thing I'd like to be able to do though, like the standard announcements DNN module, is to make the read more link a link to an external file/site (e.g. a URL) for some items only.
If you can't already do this, then how about if the Content section contains only a URL, then the read more link becomes that URL?

Couple of options here.
1. Have no content in the full data area, this will drop the read more link, and you can use java to create your own.
2. Place a java redirection into the body or the full data item. This will do an auto redirect. It would look something like this.
<script language="javascript">window.location.href = "
http://www.google.com
";</script>
Put this in the HTML source view.
