new users not able to login
(Netherlands)
Hi,
A new user register:
- by clicking the DNN register link
- Gets the DNN user register screen.
- fill in the required fields.
- click register
- gets an email with his login code etc.
- click the DNN login button.
- gets the adv. login screen
- enter his email and paswoord
Then the adv.login module does not reqognize the new user.
The user is not able to login.
When a user clicks the register button on the adv.loging module.
- Enter his properties in the fields.
- Is able to login now.
I had to do a rol back to the previous version of adv. login.
Everyting works OK now.
Please, do you have an advice?
With regards, Ton Hermes

It sounds as though the authorization process was not completed.
The module sends out an email to the new registered user with a link to click to authenticate. If that link is not clicked, then the user will remain unauthenticated.
Are you SMTP settings correct for sending out validation email messages?

Hi,
It was an authorization problem.
registration emails were send out to the customers.
However the module did not reqognized the email addresses of customers (it did nothing, no error message or whatever) when they tried to login.
If they navigate to the website by clicking the link in the registration email or navigate directly with the browser to the website, I do not know.
I cannot test this because I have now the old version installed.
With the old version it makes no difference how to navigate to the website.
Either with the link in the registration email, or browse to the site, the login module reqognize the email address and ask for the autorization code.
Then the registration completes.
