Media Player and Media Library - difference? interaction?
(United States)
I have both the Media Player and the Media Library (latest versions).
Media Player.
At first when I installed it and then uploaded a wmv file, I would have just a blank screen and nothing would play. Nothing showed. No video, no module, nothing, although it said that the file had been uploaded. There seemed to be some relationship between the Player and the Library but I was having trouble determining exactly what.
Media Library. I could upload there (although could no capture because it said they weren't on the same server - I use a remote server DNN) The videos would play.
I removed everything and started over.
I reinstalled Media Player. When I attempt to upload a film (the same one that loaded before) I get the following message:
Error: Media Content Configuration is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.DexterLib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=09fda6b4b72e16cd' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) ---> System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.DexterLib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=09fda6b4b72e16cd' or one of its dependencies. Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging. To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog]. --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
Media Library - continues to do what it did before.
My questions:
Are they supposed to work in tandem? What is the difference between them? Should I just quit trying to use the Media Player? How come I can't capture an image with everything on a remote server.
Sorry for the length - thanks for the response.

Firstly see
http://www.interactivewebs.com.au/DesktopModules/iCRMKnowledgeBase/ViewArticle.aspx?id=83
Next ensure that you have uninstalled and reinstalled the module and all dlls have been copied to the bin folder when the module installed.
SMP and SVL are two separate modules that may use the same files. If in doubt, reinstall the module.
