Bulk Emailer tasks turning themselves on in the scheduler after we turn them off
(United States)
We have installed the the new version of the bulk mailer 45.06.12, we are running DNN v 5.6.1 and we have recently moved from a iNetU single server environment to a PowerDNN Server farm and we have been experiencing issues with the bulk mailer sending out emails at various time frames and days when it's not set up to do that.
We have set up our bulk mailer to run and go out every Thursday, however, the bulk mailer is sending out emails on fridays, sundays, mondays and other random days. We have turned off the bulk mailer tasks in the scheduler (i can supply you with a screenshot of the tasks in the scheduler being turned off if you need) but it seems that the tasks then go ahead and turn themselves on without any input from us. This is a problem as we only want the email going out once a week not all the time.
The Bulk emailer is a big part of our site and is something we need to have running ASAP (preferably by this Thursday). I have looked around but did not find any ways to solve this issue.

Thank you fear enquiry.
It sounds as though there may be quite a bit to this one. It is likely to do with the worker processes that are running the DNN scheduler from multiple servers. Some of these servers may not have synchronised clocks.
Initially to try and stop the scheduler from activating when it is set not to run at all, you can try ensuring that it is set to not run, and then under the host many restarting the application pool. If you are able to I would reset IIS on the website. This will likely fix the issue as it sounds a little bit like a DNN thing when it is running across multiple servers. In theory if you disable the scheduler process task, there is no way that it can run.
So for this one we have to call DNN "BS" as a scheduler process running when it is deactivated is really outside of our control.
That being said, we would like to help you get to the bottom of this and would be happy to try and work on it before Thursday. To assist you properly we will meet host access to the site and ideally RDP access to the server to try and identify the misconfiguration.
Can you please contact us using the contact us page on our website, making reference to the URL of this forum post and we will get some engineers to look into your situation as soon as we can.
