RSS
(United States)
Hi, all.
Here's what I want to do... I have a page called News on my site (www.cladindustries.com). This is where the AnnounceIT module lives. I want to put 4 or 5 headlines on my homepage... Simple enough, I use RSS to do this. But, take a look at my homepage. There is a "test" item on the top of the RSS news feed. This is the Test title I put into the AnnounceIT BEFORE I changed it to something else. Perhaps it is a bug in the AnnounceIT module? It seems like when I change a title/summary in the AnnounceIT module, it doesn't update the RSS feed.... even after many hours and re-starting the application (I thought this may be a cache issue).
Thank you,
Derek

Re: RSS
(Australia)
Hi there, and thanks for the inquiry. On our Knowledge Base page we have an article about how to activate RSS.
http://www.interactivewebs.com/Deskto...
This DNN Module is tapping into the standard DotNetNuke method of updating RSS. That is to use the schedule process in the host Schedule Settings for:
DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler, DOTNETNUKE
This must be enabled and working correctly. When it is working correctly, the schedule History for the item will look something like this:
Description
Duration (seconds)
Succeeded
Start/End/Next Start
DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler, DOTNETNUKE
Completed re-indexing content
6.86

So check that you have it turned on, check it looks something like this and that you have enabled as per the KB article.

Re: RSS
(United States)
I enabled everything (obviously or else there would have been no news in the RSS feed viewer on my home page) so that RSS works. The issue is that it will add the news to the RSS feed initially when I save it. It will NOT update the RSS feed when I change the title of the news. No matter how long I wait, re-start the app, force the event you suggested to run, etc. It has been over 24 hours now and stil the "test" title is there instead of the updated title.
My search engine scheduler histroy looks like this:
