Q1. Can permissioning via DNN security roles to edit announcements be done (not just at the module level, but also) at the category and/or sub-category level(s)?
Q2. And, can permissioning for setting "administration" features like enabling ADDing, EDITing or setting auto-DELETE DATE, be separated from the announcement edit permissioning? (e.g. is it possible to allow DELETION to be done only by module "administrator"?)

The biggest issue:
Currently it only looks ok on a blue-skinned website!!! ie. the ability to specifiy the style characteristics of the Category List - much the same as you currently can for an announcement.

Re: Requested Features

Hi, This is my wish list in priority order.
Display article date
Ability to hide category name/have no category and the option to position it above news list instead of to the left. It is a problem when using the module in a narrow column.
Ability to allow public viewing of items in the archive as a separate category.
Display category name in search results
Individual permission control for categories.
When is the next release likely to be available?

1. Already available - Date order.
2. Available in next release
3. This would be quite easy to do, we will think about this feature in the next update.
4. We can look at this, but the search results are done via DNN. We will have to try to get cleaver with their built in search system.
5. Looking at the permissing in the next release.
Next release will be this week, but not include the features we ar taling about above. We have completed development of the next update. Big work on look and feel.

Re: Requested Features

I would love the ability to set multiple categories for a item. I realize that this is probably a major architectural change, so in the absence of that, I'd like the ability to have keyword tags for each item posted that I could create a keyword index of tags that would link to articles across multiple categories that shared the specific keyword.
I hope that makes sense.

Re: Requested Features

My wish list...
1) Is there a list of [TOKENS] that we can use to customize the templates?
2) Display the author (via token?)
3) Display the published date (via token>) << Is this [ARTICLEFROM]?
1) Ability to feature a "hot" and "popular" announcement to be always listed at the top of its categorical listing (checkbox?).
2) Show the announcement without the category listing. Some of us may use this module as a news module and will want to insert screenshots, etc. and will want to maximize the screen real estate. True that this can be accomplished by hiding the categories but then how would the visitor know what announcement to select?
3) Keep the icon in the category menu at its original size instead of resizing it to fit.
4) While in the admin section, have a button to return to the root module versus having to click "back" on each sub admin menu.
5) Ability to better view the sub categories in the category listing. Their present view is simply an extra space to "push" it towards the right. So maybe the sub-categories can be more prominently visible?
6) Ability to "split" up an announcement into multiple pages.
Now when I say that some of us may use this as an articles/news module versus a simple announcement module, I'd like to add that this module is by far better than most article modules!! So with a few more adjustments, you can probably change it from AnnounceIt to NewsIt.

1. Will get development team to answer this.
2. Working on this.
3. Working on this too.
1. Tagging items to top can be done now with sort feature.
2. Items without category can be done now.
3. We found that this resizing worked for more than not. But we will think about what we can do here.
4. Good idea
5. Will consider options here. Perhaps a user controlled indent image.
6. Hmmm not sure why you would want this? is this for very long items to be displayed on a multiple page item... Personally I hate this.. but each to their own. Will consider options here.
Thanks for the feedback.

Ouch! I am giving my registered users editing access to the module so they can add/edit announcements. Then I discover that they can also configure the entire module itself and change the way it looks! I would suggest limiting the module's configuration to administrators only.
Also, regarding your point of "tagging items to top can be done now with sort feature". The registered user will want to do this themselves while editing an article and should have to go into a separate screen. A competitor's article's module has a checkbox within their edit screen to easily allow this feature.

Specific permissions are the next item to work on.
About 1 week.

Any update on implementing keywords or tags?

Hi Folks,
The ability to allow the Archived annoucements to be viewed by the public.
I have clients who want to show current announcements only but allow visitors to view out of date items, especially for press releases.
Many Thanks

Re: Requested Features

This is a feature that has not been asked for. The archive is really operating like a "delete items". i.e. a place to keep something before it is gone for good.
The obvious way to achieve what you are asking for is to make the archive items have unique permissions.
We could do this for you as a custom mod if you need it for your client. Please use the contact us form to make email contact with us. We will advise you of the costs for this specific mod then.

Can you provide a way to add a category footer to the category configuration section. This would enable us to style a footer for the categories. The category header section and the category item sections are great, but I don't see a way to finish off the bottom of the category list.

Re: Requested Features

Hello,
I've a suggestion :
To have a link so users can send me a message about the announce. The message can be send to me by mail.
Recipients, link's text and some other things could be customized by the settings of the module.
Is this possible ? It's very important for me. You can contact me if you want.
Thanks
