When it doesn't sync at all!!!
 

I have a list of 60 odd contacts I’ve created in the contact folder in outlook that the module created, but none of them have sync’d up to the site?!

 

Also, I have pictures of some of my contacts in the list, I can understand that the pictures cannot be uploaded to the site, but why do they get stripped out of my contacts list?

Two way linking requires Outlook 2007 or 2010 connection to be clicked and used.
 
The linked list is a separate list to your contacts list, they are mutually exclusive. Only the profile data that is downloaded to outlook is linked back to DNN.
 
The behavior if images in these linked contacts is a function of Microsoft and their Outlook code. We have no control over that.

I am aware that two way linking requires Outlook 2007 or 2010. I'm using Outlook 2010.
 
I am also aware that the linked list is a seperate list and the two are mutually exclusive. The issues I am having are with the linked list in Outlook 2010. So rather than curt pointless high handed statements, could you please provide some constructive advice on how to get this module to operate as advertised.
 
Since I reloaded the linked list from scratch in Outlook the pic's I'm added to the list in Outlook are staying, so I've managed to resolve that issue (without your help).

Far from "curt pointless high handed statements".
 
You did not indicate what version of outlook you used in the original post, or if you created a link for outlook 2010 or 2007. So my "curt pointless high handed statements" are indicating that you need both of these to have the syncing back form outlook to your site.
 
That is what I would expect as the most logical error to be made from the statements you made. Naturally too I would start with have you got the latest build, and are you running standard DNN with the permissions set as recommended by DNN. Were there any errors indicated on install, or in the syncing with outlook.
 
But I can take it from your "curt pointless high handed statements" that you probably have. So how about you contact us via our contact us form and we will be only too happy to have an engineer see if they can find a cause.

just to close off this thread.
 
It was discovered that the issue I was struggling with was actually an issue with NOD32 anti-virus 4.2. There is an option in the setup under;
AntiVirus and antispyware >> Web access protection >> HTTP, HTTPS >> Address management. From the drop down select "List of addresses excluded from filtering" and add your domain to the list in the form *MyDomain.com.
 
Problem solved.
