DNN 6.2 authentication providers  (Canada)
Hi,

I see in the version history that you have began supporting the DNN 6.2 authentications so I decided to try it out. However I do not understand how it is supposed to work. I have the authentications set up and the connect works when using the default DNN login module but when I use Advanced Login I still land on the 'Authenticate 5' control page indicating that this is still the old providers. So I went and deleted the providers thinking that there could be some conflict but I am still presented with 'Authenticate 5' page

Could you please advise

Thanks

If you are talking about Facebook and Twitter authentication, the manual that comes with the module has some great details about how to set this up. Can you refer to that please.

Hi,

The manual refers to how to set up facebook and twitter using the advanced login authentication provider. Could you confirm with me then, does advanced login support facebook, twitter and Windows live DNN 6.2.1 authentication provider?

Also this might be a bug but after I deleted the advanced login auth providers my dnn auth providers began throwing an object reference error.

Re: DNN 6.2 authentication providers  (Canada)
Hi, I Understand that advanced login supports Facebook twitter and linked in but what I am wanting to know is can those be used with the new 6.2 authentication provider? The difference being is that advanced login facebook etc connect uses an association method to associate a dnn account with a Facebook etc account. The dnn 6.2 providers create a user account from Facebook etc auth information. In the version history write ups advanced login claims to support dnn 6.2 providers however I have been unable to make advanced login Facebook connect behave like the dnn method. This is what I want to confirm. Can I use advanced login to do this? Or does advanced login only use the association method?

Re: DNN 6.2 authentication providers  (United States)
I can confirm that there seem to be issues related to the twitter login method on DotNetNuke 6.2 that seem to be related to the Advanced Login and core DNN authentication provider not 'playing nice' with each other.  When the Advanced Login Twitter Authentication is enabled and hooked up I am getting a 'Critical error has occurred.  An unexpected error has occurred message'.   I'm also using the core Google and Facebook authentication methods with advanced login and they are working perfectly.  Any insights are appreciated.
