password reset and other questions on new install
(United States)
Hi
dnn 7.2.1 and latest version of AL
I just purchased the advanced login module and in the process of setting it up and have run into a couple of things I need help with
1. If I select show just the registration form , nothing displays.
2. I am tyring to configure the password reset feature that is new but cannot get it to work. I saw a post on this but no clear resolution. The template to send a password reset link is ok but the email the user gets is the default dnn which exposes the password. I tried deleting the template content but it still sends the old format. How can I send an email with the reset link in it?
UPDATE: I think I have it working. I had to change the language email template. Will confirm with details.
3. Is there a way to include the display name in the registration form?
Nice to have
1. It would be nice to be able to redirect and add to role based on a profile field.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you on this. We missed it.
1. - Please submit a support ticket about this. We will take a look at your specific example - Be sure you have the latest version of our module installed.
2. - We updated the template for late DNN versions in our latest download. Please take a look at this.
3. You can use tokens for any created or standard DNN profile item.
4- Not exactly sure what you mean by profile field. Could you please explain more what you mean here?

Our users select a custom profile field for member type. Based on a field value (ie:member type) it would be great to add them to a specific role based on the value selected.
Right now I need to use 3 instances of the module on 3 separate pages.

Thank you for explaining that. We will put this down a feature request list.
Additionally you might like to be made aware of the fact that you can have users within DotNetNuke manage their own user roles to an extent. But it sounds like you actually need something that perhaps managers user roles based on memberships that may include rebilling? Our subscription module can handle this to an extent however I suspect it is not far enough for what you are wanting to achieve here.
