I purchased AL to assist in defending against fake 'spam' registrations. My first attempt was to turn on recaptca, which did not help too much. The spambot clearly can deal with recaptca at least half the time.

The next thing I tried was setting the DNN (7.4) advanced user management control registration setting to NONE (as opposed to VALIDATE).  Unfortunately,., while this still allowed people to register via the AL page I set up, the system would no longer send a validation email, either from DNN or from AL.  So that did not work.

I am at a bit of a loss. I just cleared out 33,000 (yes THOUSAND) fake registrations!  I'd like to hear how others have successfully defended against the fake spam bots.
