Slide Down Implementation
(Jordan)
I am wondering if anyone can guide me, I am trying to implement the slide down template on all pages.
1. I want the standard login and Registration buttons for the DNN 6 to be
invisible
when the slide down is installed on the page.
2. When logged in to have the log-out button
visible
.
3. Can the Slide down be implemented as a skin object or it has to be installed on every page as a module?
4. Once installed, and one click "displayed on all pages". and if later one wants to make changes, will these changes be reflected on all other modules in the portal?

1. To hide the login and register buttons, we suggest that you use our module template to add custom jQuery on page load to hide these links. (We cannot say exactly how to do this as it will be different for different skins). If you are unable to do this yourself, then we can assist you for a small cost.
2. This will be visible by default, as out slide down is only visible for unauthenticated users.
3. No, it must be a module on each page. We recommend the use of the Home page, then tick the option to add to all pages.
4. If you edit the primary instance of the module (home page) then all pages will get the change.

Re: Slide Down Implementation

I have a bilingual website (English as the default and Arabic), I will customize a template one for the English and one for the Arabic (RTL)..
My question is when I click "display on all pages", will the module be displayed on one language section of the portal (/en-us/) or on both languages (/en-us/ and /ar-jo/)
Appreciate your insight
?

Re: Slide Down Implementation

I created a page in the Admin section and inserted the module in its own page.
Once installed it also appeared in the Arabic version of the same page.
On the English default page, I clicked display on all pages. It displayed on all English pages only
Which is some what ok, as one can customize other page, but the point is the configuration view of Arabic version of the module is corrupted (tabs disapeared).
I did apply one module on a page and, the drop down retrieves partially the default template that comes with the module.
Kindly help

With DNN, there are not multiple pages for each language. There is only the sites defined pages, but the pages can be accessed with a tag or token in the url, telling the pages to load with particular language settings.
So if you have setup the module on your primary page to be accessed correctly with language settings for two languages, then you apply that to every page of your site. Then these settings will apply over all pages of your site.
What you descrive sounds like it may be some sort of cache issue or setup issue, as the module should appear on any page in either language after you make the settings you describe.

I had a content translation (from the host settings and then languages page) of all the pages and the Arabic pages are all RTL direction, PRIOR to the module installation.
What I described to you is what exactly what happened, to my web site, the tabs on the configuration settings have disappeared from the module in the Arabic page.
If I can upload a screenshot on the forum I to show you.
