Tags and Emails
(Canada)
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to send out the Add to Role email to the current list of users with this role? I just added the module and would like to send each of my current users this email as well as those that register from now on.
Also, is there a tag list (cloud) or some other way of allowing users to search the links? Currently, if I understand correctly, if a user clicks on a tag in a link it filters the links by that tag...but if you have a lot of links the user would have to scroll through tons of links to find a link with the tag they want to search on. It's possible I have missed something.
Thanks

A Campaign Group with catchup will allow you to do this.
As for the second question. Sorry, but I really don't understand the question. Could you "dumb it down" somewhat.

A search function is just that. A search box at the top of the list that would filter the results by tag and description. This would be great.
A Tag cloud is a collection of known "tags". usually the more popular a tag, the more prominent the display of that tag by either making it bigger or bolder or a different color. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_cloud
The function of a tag cloud is basically to allow the user to click the tag which then shows a search result for only items that match that tag.

I also wanted to add.. I think that the module programmers see this strictly as a nice looking back link builder. In other words, it's a way to get sites to link to you for SEO purposes and thats about it.
It's not designed to be a useful link resource for your end users.
At least this was the impression that I got from David Finley who told me: "buying a backlinking module and wondering why it does not do front links, is a bit like buying a hotel room, and wondering why the bed does not float? It’s not designed to help you front link, it is designed to help you backlink."

Some good suggestions with the tag cloud and search function.

Correct about the front link side of things. The module was designed to be a hands off external user linking system, hence the name "Automatic Link Builder".
The module does do exactly what the description says it does, and that is automate the process of others using your site to create links to theirs, while automatically communicating with the external users to establish a linkback to your site, before their listing is made live.
Administrator involvement is only needed to ensure the acceptability of the page linking back.
So that is what the module does, as the name suggests. We may be adding features in the future, but cannot guarantee timing on these updates.
