Hi,
1. I am unable to receive any welcome email after I subscribe to any list.
Is there any setting which I left out while configuring the optin ?
2. However, I do receive a campaign email, which was initiated prior to my subscription. I want to disable that as well. so that new users will not be able to receive any previous campaign.

The welcome email messages are using your HOST SMTP Settings. The bulk email module could be using HOST or SMTP configured settings.
Read page 12 of the manual carefully. It talks about SMTP issues in detail.
It sound like you have configured a campaign with catchup. Ensure that this is not enabled, if you don't need catchup, then just send campaigns directly, no real need to use groups.

Hi,
I checked my DNN smtp settings. It goes correct. Moreover, other dnn modules are using same smtp settings and do well.
Is there any other things I need to check ?

Did you read the section about SMTP authentication and sending email messages to email addresses that are external to your hosting provider?

Hi,
I checked the settings on that page and because it works very well with other modules; and confirmed the settings again.
But the problem i am still getting is that the welcome mail doesn't reach.
My current version is the latest one available on the site (non-trial).
Can you please help me start sending the welcome mails.

It sounds as though your do not have correct SMTP authentication settings. The manual is clear about problems with SMTP authentication. It is possible for your to receive email messages to admin email address not requiring authentication, but when you try to send to an external email server, the mail will fail without authentication.
PLEASE READ that SMTP setup in the manual carefully. Testing with other modules does not test SMTP authentication. AS PER THE MANUAL.

Hi,
For checking the smtp settings are correctly working in my DNN smtp settings, I did following :
1. Site Admin => Newsletters (not iWebs bulk-emailer) (my dnn site settings use gmail account for emailing)
2. Create a Newsletter, with recipients from several mail addresses, including : (1) two of our company emails (2) a yahoo mail (3) a gmail. [which are of course the external mail servers, except gmail itself]
3. Send the newsletter
I observed that :
1. I received the created newsletter in all of them exactly as required.
2. I could see the "Sent items" in my gmail account, showing those emails
(this one is proof that the smtp settings are very well configured, as mails sent from dnn website are shown in gmail-account-sent-items)
.
Now I believe that my dnn site passes smtp authentication test as pointed by you.
I hope this information would help to resolve this issue.
Is there any log where I can see that the system tried sending the Welcome Mail but failed due to any error ? That information would help a lot to see what went wrong on the way.
