Installation Failed
(United States)
DNN V04.09 installed on IIS 7.0 64bit
Instllation Failed with this error:

I then tried reinstalling and it seemed like everything went ok (i.e. there were no error messages in second install attempt) HOWEVER, the module DOES NOT APPEAR in the list of modules installed nor does it appear in the dropdown list of modules to install it on a page.
I have never had a problem with installing any other module before. What went wrong and how can I correct it?
Thanks,
JK

Re: Installation Failed

OK, I found the module. I was looking for it in the "B's" as in Bulk Mailer per the instructions. I found it under "i" as in iWeb.
Now I am having other problems with uploaded mailing lists. I am trying to delete a list that I uploaded and am now getting this error:
A critical error has occurred.
Invalid object name 'iwebs_BE_EmailGroups'. Transaction count after EXECUTE indicates that a COMMIT or ROLLBACK TRANSACTION statement is missing. Previous count = 0, current count = 1.
As my original installation error had something to do with the SQL DB, I'm assuming that something might not have actually installed properly after all.
How can I now delete mailing lists that I have uploaded?

Re: Installation Failed

JK,
I would suggest that the mail list management is not going to work while there were errors on install. So we need to get you sorted with a correct install.
Would you please try the followng.
1. Grab the latest version of our software from our website.
2. Uninstall the existing module, including the option of delete files.
3. Install the new downloaded versions.'
4. Report to us any errors of this fresh install.
Thanks.

Re: Installation Failed

I found a good way to insall the PA.
Module Installation Timeout
As modules get more sophisticated and provide more features and functionality, the file size of private assemblies (PAs) naturally grows as well. This may lead to HTTP session timeouts when uploading PAs the conventional way (Host > Module Definitions > Install New Module.) While there are means to increase the session length in web.config, I prefer to simply FTP upload the PA zip file into the Install\Module folder on the web server and then change the file extension from .zip to .resources. Subsequently, the module is listed in the Available Modules section of the Modules Definition page and installation can resume from there.

Uninstalling the earlier versions and installing any of the later versions will address this.

Re: Installation Failed

Colin, thank you for that tip. That saved me from pulling out what few hairs I have left. I had tried installing 4-5 times and every time it erred out because of timing out. That did the trick.
Thank you!
David
