Failure
(Mexico)
I tried to bulk email out a simple text email out to about 250 of my users using a DNN role. About 1/2 of them failed. This is at least a step up from DNN where I didn't know which ones failed. I then took the 125 failed emails (copy & pasted from the Campaign results), inserted them into a temp table in sql and linked them back to the profiles and put them into another role. This time out of the 125+/- emails going out 30+/- failed. I then went through the same step till they were all sent out.
What could be the problem?
Also I think there should be two improvements:
1) We know WHY they failed somewhere.
2) Be able to rerun the failed emails somehow.

How did you know they failed? Was there a message?
Anything in the host/scheduled history for the item?

In the Campaign details screen the status was Failed.
I just looked in the Host / Scheduled History section (I have never looked there before) and I find that all th MailActivity Completed with nothing funky looking.

In this case, I think you will find that the SMTP server you are using has a limit on the number of email messages that can be sent in a time period.
Are you using google, or a host provider?
Can you check if there is a limit to the number of email messages you can send via the configured server?

Currently I'm using WebHost4Life as my hosting provider. I can't seem to find anywhere where they limit the # of emails going out, but I've entered a problem ticket in for them.
If this is the case, I still would like to suggest that somehow you incorporate the functionality to export those failure emails somehow so that they can be resent in a different campaign.
Also, along those lines, it would be nice to be able to "Copy" the attributes of a preexisting campaign for a new campaign. Just an idea.

I am kind of sure that webhost4life do limit outbound email messages per day.
What you should do is find out this limit, and throttle the bulke emailer to only deliver less than this per day.
This way a campaign will take some time to run, but will just keep running till completed.

OK, I found out that they limit it to 50 email messages per every 10 minutes.
This is kind of lame since DNN subsciptions would almost overwelm that I would think.
Fortunately, I only have about 400 users. So where exactly do I "throttle" this setting?

Rather than replicating the manual... probably easier for me to say.. please read the manual, it is well explained there.
