Error email format - message
(United States)
I am trying to import a list with 1,400+ email addresses.
I get the following message - "Error email format", that's it no detail. A list is created in the system with a "0" address count. I look over the list there doesn't seem to be any format errors, also I have been using the list for quite a while.

figured it out there was an embedded space at the end of the email address, maybe a "trim" would fix that.

We have made some improvements here in the latest release.

Error Email format. This is no help whatsoever. I have a list of 300 email addresses and it gives me no indication of the one it is having trouble with.
"Improvements" don't seem to have helped.

What I can tell you is this.
From time to time we get an indication that the import feature does not work. In all cases we have seen, the problem is with the data being imported. We have details on how to import in the manual. Using the template file that we included in the download .zip file as a starting point. Some tips are:
1. Use the template, and keep the same order for data
2. Keep the top line of heading and paste your data as a text only data into the CSV file
3. Be absolutely sure that your source is plain text, no HTML code of formatting code hidden behind
4. Save a the same format as the original
In all cases that we have been sent a file that does not function, all we have had to do to make it work is clean up bad data.
So please take another look at your data and file before asking for more assistance. If still you cannot work it out, please contact us through our contact us page and make reference to this post.
Incidentally, the error is indicating that an email address being imported is not in the correct format for an email address. Perhaps bad data like a double @@ or similar.

Actually, I get the "Error email format" error using the sample XLS file directly from the latest downloaded zip file, unchanged. The only way I've been able to import addresses successfully is by saving as CSV, but that has the column order problems mentioned in another thread. Sounds like a bug to me.
It's a shame since the software is otherwise just what we would want in a bulk mailer.

Actually the bug is the sample file not the software. We will be sure to include the correct .csv file in the next release.

Are you able to give an indication on the correct CSV format for me now? It would help with evaluation.
